Shamanism is one of the oldest, most ancient forms of religion, and goes back to the distant times of primitive society. When Shamanism was born is unknown, because at the time of Paleolithic stone ages had no written language, only the rock carvings on the walls of caves.
The main actor in shamanism is the shaman — an intermediary between the spirit world and the world of men. Later replaced shamans as mediators come other actors: the priests. Gradually, with the development of civilization, culture, religion, shamanism position more and more weakened, and the shaman departed to the periphery of public life, and eventually in many civilizations and cultures have disappeared completely.
Only in remote areas that have not been affected by human civilization and scientific progress, where people today continue to live as their ancestors lived many centuries ago despite the fact that it is 21st century already in such places to Shamanism is still alive and flying spirit of the great shaman, and ordinary shamans are still continue to beat their drums, doing magic rituals and communicate with spirits.
In the 20th century, shamans and shamanic culture still persisted among the tribes of American Indians, the inhabitants of distant Russian Siberia among peoples Chukchi, Evenki, Bashkirsmany native tribes of central Africa, Australia and Polynesia.
In Ukraine, the descendants of the ancient shamans have been preserved in the picturesque Carpathian Mountains. Ukrainian shamans call themselves molfar wizards and live somewhere high in the Carpathian Mountains, far away from human civilization and tourist routes. Shamans are different from the priests, of the fact that they often become shamans against their will, but the spirits themselves choose them to shamanism shamanic service.
Being a shaman is hard, very hard, and often people who fell on themselves choice of spirits, did not want to become a shaman, but nothing can be done, the spirits did not argue. During this ceremony which can sometimes last for years! The future shaman goes through great suffering and trials. On the part of such a person is very sick, sometimes it will give the impression of a Madman, he might be epileptic seizures and just severe pain in all parts of the body.
Over time, a man begins to slowly shaman and pain and suffering due to this pass, recovery occurs, after which a person becomes a full-fledged shaman. It should be noted that being a shaman was a great honor, and when someone happened shamanic sickness, all the relatives and friends of the man closely began caring for the sick and the whole tribe than it helped the family of the future shaman.
Have much in common between the shamans and other well-known religious figures — prophets. There is even an opinion that it was the first prophets were shamans.
The generality of the prophets, the shamans in the fact that people who are became the prophets, as well as shamans, became not on their own will. We may recall the biblical story of the prophet Jonah, who instead of going to preach the will of God in the city of Nineveh, and tries to run away from God and the mission of the prophet and the punishment for it is in the belly of a giant fish.
Also in the descriptions of people who lived as the prophets can see something similar to shamanic ritual of recreation. For example, if you take the biography of the Muslim prophet Muhammad. According to legend, angels, cut it in half, cleaned the body and only after that he received the gift of prophecy and became a prophet of Allah. The ceremony during which the shaman communicates with spirits called — rite. In ritual the shaman enters a trance or ecstasy. During the ritual the shaman can hop on one foot, rolling on the ground, dance, beat the drum, take a hot iron with his bare hands, but can do nothing, just a lie on the ground, while traveling with the spirits somewhere in the other places.
Tambourine — a special shamanic tool. Without it, the shaman loses his force. If the shaman during the ceremony of ritual drum breaks, this shaman may even die. They are probably best known for their invasions and destruction in the Avar—Byzantine wars from to The name Pannonian Avars after the area in which they eventually settled is used to distinguish them from the Avars of the Caucasusa separate people with whom the Pannonian Avars might or might not have had links.

Shamanistic remnants in Hungarian folklore
For this very Chagan had in fact outfought the leader of the nation of the Abdali I mean indeed, of the Hephthalitesas they are calledconquered him, and assumed the rule of the nation.
But let no one think that we are distorting the history of these times because he supposes that the Avars are those barbarians neighbouring on Europe and Pannoniaand that their arrival was prior to the times of the emperor Maurice.
For it is by a misnomer that the barbarians on the Ister have assumed the appellation of Avars; the origin of their race will shortly be revealed. So, when the Avars had been defeated for we are returning to the account some of them made their escape to those who inhabit Taugast. Taugast is a famous city, which is a total of one thousand five hundred miles distant from those who are called Turks, Others of the Avars, who declined to humbler fortune because of their defeat, came to those who are called Mucri ; this nation is the closest neighbour to the men of Taugast.
Then the Chagan embarked on yet another enterprise, and subdued all the Ogur, which is one of the strongest tribes on account of its large population and its armed training for war. These make their habitations in the east, by the course of the river Tilwhich Turks are accustomed to call Melas. The earliest leaders of this nation were named Var and Chunni ; from them some parts of those nations were also accorded their nomenclature, being called Var and Chunni.
Then, while the emperor Justinian was in possession of the royal power, a small section of these Var and Chunni fled from that ancestral tribe and settled in Europe. These named themselves Avars and glorified their leader with the appellation of Chagan. Let us declare, without departing in the least from the truth, how the means of changing their name came to them.
When the BarsilsOnogursSabirsand other Hun nations in addition to these, saw that a section of those who were still Var and Chunni had fled to their regions, they plunged into extreme panic, since they suspected that the settlers were Avars.
For this reason they honoured the fugitives with splendid gifts and supposed that they received from them security in exchange. Then, after the Var and Chunni saw the well-omened beginning to their flight, they appropriated the ambassadors' error and named themselves Avars: for among the Scythian nations that of the Avars is said to be the most adept tribe.
In point of fact even up to our present times the Pseudo-Avars for it is more correct to refer to them thus are divided in their ancestry, some bearing the time-honoured name of Var while others are called Chunni. According to the interpretation of Dobrovits and Nechaeva, the Turks insisted that the Avars were only "pseudo-Avars", so as to boast that they were the only formidable power in the Eurasian steppe.
Furthermore, Dobrovits has questioned the authenticity of Theophylact's account. The Rights of Humans. The Rights of Gods on Earth. The Female and male Gods of Light. The Right for Freedom.

Carpathian Shamans – Ukraine Molfar & Polish Whisperer’s Magical Rites
Shamans are very different than Medicine people shaman practitioners and real shamans were rare on the planet a million years ago and they are still rare today. Folk healing comes from this ancient root of shamans. Wherever one learns to heal, be it religious healing, pagan healing, folk healing or shamans who heal, at the core it comes from the ancient dreaming cultures, the root of our soul.
The bird tribe grandmothers. Read here, f or those who wish to enter deeper layers about the shamanic perspective of Baba Jaga. Carpathian Shamanism, although given different names explained here, its a long ancestral lineage where Slovak, Poland and Ukraine meet. The root of the Whisperer is an ancient shaman not witch but the witches eventually adopted the name later. Witch and Shaman really only have a few things in common, but are very different.
The first and main difference is paganism, a root of any witch, male or female around the world and it all falls under the Dionysus cult root which spread from Greece and Roman times Bacchus.
This is because his cult was introduced when travelling and exploring in order to conquer other peoples lands around bcewhich spread to all Nordic and Slavic Pagan countries.
Compared to shamans of non-pagan cultures before that which were grandmother cultures, small tribe cultures. There maybe some similarities in objects and tools as well. Because women dominated healing and folk healing, rituals as Witch when the goddess fell, she and her name were given derogatory terms and given to women who would wonder or think about leaving the repressive christian religions.
All women shamans, witches, herbalists, folk healers, midwives, soothsayers, seers, etc were condemned by Christian men all over the world in a few eras and the other three main religions as well.
Shamans were and still are too rare and too individual to persecute in this way. Thus the campaign to dis-empower and degrade the grandmother power as shamans in the rising kingdoms of men and pagan men, were much easier. Since I have a blending of both Poland-Ukraine border ancestorsbecause borders switched borders back and forth since the mid s, my ancestral heritage is shaman, not witch, and is why whispering and molfars are connected to this lineage.
Most are not the depth unless a person is fated, and that is generally the case. Anyone can be a witch or folk healer, but only a few can be a real shaman. But both are connected through shamanism. Women and men who still practice their folk traditions of a simpler shamanism, although most whisperers, whats left of shamanism is closer to the Eastern Polish traditions. They inhabit the central and the western half of the Carpathians in Ukraine across such regions as the southern Lviv Oblast Skole, Turka, Drohobych, Sambir and Stary Sambir raionswestern Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast Dolyna and Rozhniativ and parts of the northeastern Zakarpattia oblast Mizhhiriaas well as the adjacent areas of southeast Poland and northeast Slovakia.
On the grounds forming Boyko, there are Boykos with Lemkos and Hutsuls in an area that was known as White Croatia and with their dialect, language, folk costumes are almost equal with Dinaric Croatian and it is to be considered as Croatian ethnic group.
To the south or southwest live the Lemkos and to east or southeast live the Hutsuls, the two other highlander ethnic and more indigenous Ukraine people. In regards to both the corruption of ancient cultures from the kingdoms of religious military and pagan traditions, who like the religious took on a more male leadership, despite their destruction it had on the earlier preth century indigenous people. A Molfar is a lighter version of shaman, more like a medicine woman or medicine man, which are just called Carpathian Folk Healer.
Most Slavs and Balkans call their gifted shamans Folk Healers and the terms can really be thought of as a lesser shaman, even the ones who are called Witch healers. In the more indigenous traditions of the Hutsul cultures or Rusyns etc. When religions arrived, the shaman name was eventually called witches or folk healer, because most healer shamans were women. That is why the traditions were lost and only left in the smaller Slav and Balkan indigenous villages.
Gifted healing abilities which tend to focus more on faith, combined with nature are much more powerful. This is what the whisperers and folk healers are. Shamanic ways still survive in Balkan and Slavic hearts or at least the ones who have the gifts themselves undeveloped.
The tradition is deeply rooted in the region. Even politicians from Kyiv are said to have risked a look into the future here.

In Poland the women shamans are called Whisperers and the more advanced and magical shamans, Wind Whisperers. Like their Ukraine Molfar neighbors, more women in Poland are beginning to return to the roots of their ancient practices that existed before the spread modern religion and subsequent corruption of ancient shamanic practice.
The Mongolian and Siberian folk shaman traditions which are often referred to as Tengerism are also seeing a revival of their ethnic shamanistic-based healers, who have been subject to much persecution. In Tengerism, there is both Yellow Shamanism and Black Shamanism, with the more powerful, magical shamans being known as Black Shamans.
Similarly, the Pacific Northwest Native American traditions refer their more advanced, magical shamans as Dreamers. A commonality within all of these cultures is that other shamans often fear Dreamers and Molfar, though some also respect them from a distance.
The shamanism of all the cultures which contain Molfar stem from a more ancient cultural tradition, which is known as the Light of the Dark. Conversely there also exists the Dark of the Light, which is its opposite and encompasses the shadow side of religion like way in which dark Catholic priests have, for millenniums, sexually abused both women and children.Morganite in hindi
And so we see historically, that it was Religious Corruption the Dark of the Lightwhich sought to destroy the Shamans and Dreamers the Light of the Darkwho were responsible for exposing their malpractices. To do this requires having mastered the teachings of the Light along with their individual ancient karma or shadow lifetimes.
The depth and mystery associated with this path can be one of the reasons as to why the healers, herbalists, ceremonial shamans fear them. Dreamers also have the ability to leave their bodies ten astral and animist bodies and roam the earth for exorcisms on the shadow aspects of human demons, reptilians, werewolves, skin walkers, vampires and other dark creatures, where most regular shamans cannot.
The Molfar, Dreamer shaman or Black Shaman can also enter the magical energy of earth and its consciousness without the assistance of shamanic drugs, ecstatic dances or costumes. They can pass through the shamanic veils and enter the natural forces from their inner spaces in both time waking mundane life and no-time dreaming or dreamtime if that advanced.
They can become one with the natural forces and have a real relationship with the consciousness of the earth herself. This expanded consciousness is beyond the mastered human self and the mastered animist self. It belongs to the realm of the Elemental Self, which is called Spirit in the prehistoric traditions and the ability to enter this consciousness comes from having served mother earth for many, many lifetimes.
The realities of these men and women are fated by birth. Referred to as Weather Shamans, by modern shamanic practitioners, they have the ability to enter the coexistence and move destruction of the physical nature into the realms of darkness for its demise. Viking, Medieval and archaic Pagan magicians attributed these qualities and to gods like Odin. Because these Molfar possess the same qualities, but in human form, other types of shamans who have the ability to feel their pure intensity often fear them when they are approached.
The intensity of their energy is also why such magical shamans are disrespected and ostracized in many societies. In a contemporary context, a Molfar shaman would be a shaman that is survellianced by the FBI, blacklisted on the Internet shamanic sites also created by the FBI and publicly shamed into starvation and homelessness by other shamans out of fear. Obviously contemporary shamans who are trained in schools or online as well as plant drug shamans do not encounter the same response in modern society.
A few still survive in the region along with Molfar and Whisperers, who have immigrated from the Ukraine and Poland and live their lives in other countries being able to express even more dedication to advancements of their soul, while still retaining their fated birthrights. May I ask who wrote this article? It is a well-written treatise on the Carpathian shamans, a topic I would say most of us know next to nothing about, and I appreciate reading and learning from it.

Studies of files of witch trials reveal that some features of Hungarian folklore are remnants of shamanistic beliefs, maintained from the deep past, or possibly borrowed from Turkic peoples with whom Hungarians lived before wandering to the Pannonian Basin ; or maybe is an effect of Eastern influence thereafter Cuman immigration.
These remnants are partly conserved as fragments by some features of customs and beliefs, for example. There were also people who filled similar roles to those performed by shamans among other peoples: fortune-tellingweather magic, finding lost objects.
These people are related to shamanism in contrast to the cunning folk of non-shamanistic culturesbecause the former are recorded to go through similar experiences to those of many shamans: being born with physical anomalies such as surplus amount of bones or teeth, illness, dismemberment by a mythological being and recovering with greater or increased capabilities, or struggle with other shamans or beings.
Related features can be recognized in several examples of shamanism in Siberia. As the Hungarian language belongs to the Uralic familywe can expect to find them among other peoples who speake Uralic languages.
Some of them maintained shamanism until modern times.
Especially the isolated location of Nganasan peoplemade it possible that shamanism was a living phenomenon among them even at the beginning of 20th century. The original location of the Proto-Uralic peoples and its extent is debated. The combined results of several sciences suggest that this area was north of Central Ural Mountains and on lower and middle parts of the Ob River. This approach combined ecological, namely phytogeographical and paleobotanic including palynological data together with linguistic phytonymic and comparative considerations: the distribution of various tree species in Siberia and Eastern Europe changing over time was matched against the distribution of the respective tree-names in various Uralic languages filtered with comparative methods, so that only names of Proto-Uralic relevance be taken into account.
Some artifacts, see online available pictures and descriptions: . Soul dualism can be observed in several cultures in many variations: people are believed to have more than one soul. Examples can be found in several North Eurasian cultures, in some Eskimo groups; and a majority of Finno-Ugric peoples, including Hungarians.
In some cultures, it may be related to shamanic concepts. It is the shaman's free soul that leaves his body. As mentioned, it was also observed among Hungarians. Ortutay Gyula — From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.Unity scanline shader
